Student Affairs Counsellor
Ann Smith is a retired senior educator whose life’s mission is helping students to become socially prepared and well-educated. A behaviour and education consultant, she studied teacher’s education, psychology and community counselling with the Bahamas Teachers College, the College of Saint Benedict, Saint Leo’s College and the University of Miami, and is a lecturer with a number of institutions. She is the bridge between students and The Chance Foundation, and the glue that holds it all together. Ann regularly visits secondary schools throughout the Islands of The Bahamas to bring awareness to underprivileged students of the opportunity for tertiary education through The Chance Foundation. Ann pours her heart and soul into sourcing and matching colleges and mentors with students in need. She keeps a firm thumb on every student and keeps them accountable to ensure that our donors’ money is well-invested in our students to build a better Bahamas.
She defines her purpose as “Inspiring & empowering others to achieve their desired goals”
