Peer Buddies

Peer Buddies are students who are not at-risk, who are successfully engaged in, or completed tertiary education, who agree to “adopt” one or more at-risk students and positively influence and guide them through their university years.

Tatum Williams, a Doctoral candidate of clinical psychology in San Francisco, California currently works with adults, children and families in an outpatient program with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Prior to this she mentored and counseled teenagers individually and in groups in a school-based child and family psychology program. Since the age of 14, she has lent invaluable service to The Chance Foundation first with technology and later as a Peer Mentor assisting, motivating and guiding teens and their families through any obstacles and supporting them in preparation for leaving The Bahamas for high school and/or college, through the assistance of Chance scholarships.
